When we talk about stretching the hips and hip flexibility, it is extremely important in warding off any low back pain and really keeping your joints healthy and happy throughout your whole life. So, during pregnancy and after pregnancy, you lose your hip extension, so the ability of your leg to become behind your body. That's needed for just everyday walking. And so, this is a great way to work on your hip mobility, whether you've just had a baby, or whether you are just looking to stay healthy and have some good hip flexibility, or if you're suffering from any low back pain.
1. So, you're gonna be on all fours. And this can be modified, so your hands can be on a counter. You're gonna take your legs, you're gonna engage your core, you're gonna lift your leg up to the sky. 2. You're then gonna abduct and bring the leg back down, then you're gonna abduct here, bring the leg back up and into that extended point, come back, and go the other way. 3. Come back down, here, and go the other way. So you're talking the ball, and you're really rolling it in the entire socket. And that's really important, and it's making your muscles go through the positions and really actively stretching the joints, vs. just holding a stretch for 30 to 60 seconds. This is how you maintain permanent improvements in flexibility.
