We've all been there, searched our symptoms and came upon information that just sends us spiraling.

Stress, fear and pain can make it near impossible to take action. So we put our needs on the back burner. We convince ourselves that things will get better naturally, that they're not that serious. We hear from clients so often that they were afraid to start because, "What if I don't get better and still have to have surgery?" It can be hard to start physical therapy because many people see physical therapy as the last ditch before surgery and that puts a lot of mental pressure on the outcome you are striving for. Here at Body Motion PT we don't have specific guidelines for what it means to be healed because every single person's goals are different. We create a personalized plan of care which includes milestones, specific to your goals.
Do you want to get back to running half marathons? Awesome is achieving that possible, yes! Is that the only way we will measure if physical therapy is helpful to you? NO! We are going to build you up. Here's an example; first we're going to eliminate the knee pain you've been waking up with. Then help you feel strong in your core. Then comfortable walks with your dog. Feeling like you can stand tall with good posture. Then we'll move on to proper form with a variety of strengthening exercises. Followed by a PT approved running program which starts with with a pain free mile, then 2 and so on. All while having mastered the basics. But physical therapy isn't just for athletes or for after surgery like many people think. We specialize in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy is perfect for women from all walks of life so if you are an athlete, or maybe had a past injury, or have struggled with pain in the past prior to pregnancy. We can help! But we are experts when it comes to pregnancy support and postpartum healing! And it's not too late!

You can be 6 weeks postpartum or 50 years, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy will keep your core strong and joints supported. Our core is THE CORE of our strength with the Pelvic Floor being the root strength of that core. If you are having any type of dysfunction, which shows up as; leaking pee when you cough, sneeze, jump. Not being able to hold a fart or a bowel movement. Experiencing painful or uncomfortable intercourse, low back pain, hip pain, knee pain, even neck pain can all be tied to the pelvic floor. That's why we are such big advocates for getting Pelvic Floor treatment proactively and not waiting till all of the above is aching and surgery is the only option. Because so much is tied to the Pelvic Floor investing time and energy into those muscles, with manual therapy from an expert, personalized exercises and learning to coordinate your core muscles will literally change your life! Pelvic Floor PT is the missing puzzle piece in Postpartum Healing and healthcare in general. Bouncing Back is BS, what you need is time and support. We are all about reality, we can help you achieve your goals in real life forget Instagram standards and diet culture pressuring you to snap back. You're a mother. You're amazing and loved and needed AS YOU ARE!

Birth whether it was vaginal or caesarean requires healing, What you do need to focus on is health not size. You can have an amazingly strong core at any size and that is how you maintain your health and avoid medications and surgery and chronic pain in the future. So if you've been searching online and are struggling with a diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence or pain anywhere. Let us know! We offer a Free 30 Minute Discovery Visit so you can stop doom scrolling and talk with an expert share your story and get some support!
